2014 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony
Tonight, Lita was inducted into the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame by her long time rival and best friend Trish Stratus. Below you will find a full recap of her speech, photos from the ceremony, video exclusives, and more from the historic event!
We start with a video highlight reel of Lita in action with comments by AJ Lee, Natalya, Kofi Kingston, Naomi, Michael Cole, Michael Hayes, Tamina Snuka, Summer Rae and Trish Stratus. Then Lawler brought out Trish Stratus to induct Lita. Trish mentioned that Lita was the god-mother of her child. She also said they debuted and retired weeks apart from each other and were rivals through their entire career. She also mentioned how they were the only women to ever main event Raw.
Lita came out in a long red dress (Trish said it was a first-time long dress for Lita). A “Thank You Lita” chant starts. She starts to tell the story of heading down to Mexico to be a professional wrestling in Lucha Libre wrestling. She made her way to Arena Mexico to watch her first Lucha Libre match but it turned out that she was at a circus. Oops. Then she finally got to her first real match and convinced them to train her in CMLL with Los Boricuas, including Ricky Santana. Once she saw Rey Mysterio, she realized how she wanted to wrestle. She went to try to find Rey Mysterio, but didn’t find him but found Arn Anderson, who promised that he would introduce her to Rey. He kept his word and introduced them and Arn said that they owed him two Miller Lites. She then brought out Miller Lites and shared them with Arn and Rey. She found a wrestling school and did a six month stint at ECW, debuting at Heat Wave 99. She jokes about her marriage proposals to Danny Doring, Edge, and Kane. She then reminds the audience of the Kane-demon spawn storyline with Gene Snitsky’s “It’s not my fault” tag line. She then talks about traumatizing a little girl who knitted her a baby blanket and that Kane is actually Glen, a really nice guy. She then talked about how she was injured while shooting “Dark Angel” for James Cameron, a broken neck. She was told that if she underwent surgery that she would never wrestle again. She said the one person she wanted to talk to about it was Stone Cold Steve Austin for advice. He took her to his doctor and got her fixed and she continued wrestling. Her and Victoria had the first ever women’s steel cage match. Her last match was against Mickie James. She also mentioned how important it was to start her career with Esse Rios. She then thanked The Hardy Boyz and mentioned how she was the only girl in the TLC crew. She thanked Trish Stratus, the perfect Ying and Yang.
Don’t forget: a one hour replay of the Hall of Fame featuring Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Ultimate Warrior, and Lita will air Monday after Raw on USA!

Interview: Mike Jones interviews Lita on Hall of Fame Induction, more
It wasn’t just a conversation, it was a conversation with one of the newest members of the WWE Hall of Fame! Lita called to talk about her time here in DC, who will be inducting her on April 5th, her advice for the current WWE Divas and what it really takes for a woman to get into the Hall of Fame!

More reactions on Lita’s Hall of Fame Induction: Trish Stratus, Jim Ross, & Mickie James
In a follow up to the overwhelming response from the wrestling world on Twitter, Trish Stratus, Jim Ross, and Mickie James have posted write ups on their thoughts about Lita’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame.
From Trish Stratus (via TrishStratus.com)
“I’m so happy for Amy!” Trish said over the phone. “Lita was someone who connected with our audiences right from her very first appearance in the WWE ring. She embodied a generation’s battle to be authentic. Everything about her attitude – from her body language to her outfits – told girls and boys to be true to themselves.”
“Her induction proves that she left an impression and she, rightfully, will now take her place amongst our industry’s best.”
From Jim Ross (via JRsBarBQ.com)
Very proud of Amy Dumas aka Lita who will be inducted in the WWE HOF class of 2014 in NOLA the night before WM30. I had heard this info leaded from WWE a couple of weeks ago but did not want to contribute to spoiling the surprise. I did vividly remember meeting Amy in my Stamford office years ago when she came in for a job interview. She had been bold and brave enough to live alone in Mexico to train and develop a different skill set from other females and she eventually became one of WWE’s biggest stars, male or female, during my time in talent relations. There’s a funny story about her less than dainty shoulder tattoo that played into her job interview that I tell on our RINGSIDE shows.
From Mickie James (via Facebook)
Last night a dear friend of mine was announced as an inductee in the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame. This year Lita will rightfully take her place alongside the legends of our industry. I could not be more happy for her. She truly deserves this so much.
Lita brought her own unique style and grace both in and out the ring. She broke the mold of convention and paved her own way with originality and innovation. She dared you to be your own unique self no matter what! And she captured and embraced a unique and loyal blend of fans all her own because of it.
I was fortunate enough to meet Lita prior to ever making it to the big dance. In North Carolina in the back of a small Indy show where she actually pulled me aside to give me advice about my match. She didn’t have to do that but she did. That was just a small testament to how much she truly loved this business. And perhaps he saw something in little ol’ me. I owe a lot to her in the advice she shared with me and all the help along the way. I had looked up to her then but even more after that day.
One of the moments I can say that I am honestly most proud of in my career was to share the ring with her in her last match before her retirement at WWE Survivor Series 2006 in Philly. It was a sad day because it was the true end of the Golden Era of women’s wrestling. I couldn’t have been more honored to finally have a program with someone I looked up to for so many reasons and so long.
Congrats to a friend, a mentor, and to an amazing woman! I’m so proud of and for you. I love you girl! Thank you for not just setting a standard but for raising the bar! Thank you for seeing something in me. The fans and I thank you for everything! Xoxo

WWE.com: Lita talks Attitude Era, WWE ’13
“In WWE.com’s second Attitude Era–centric interview in celebration of THQ’s revolutionary “WWE ’13,” we sit down with former WWE Women’s Champion and fan favorite Lita to talk about the days when Attitude ruled the ring. Lita dishes about the differences between the Divas division now and then, and what WWE Universe members are telling her about WWE ’13.”
WWE.COM: What is your favorite Attitude Era moment?
LITA: One thing that really sticks out to me is when D-Generation X went and took over the show at WCW with the tank. The whole Attitude Era was about pushing the envelope, and [the tank incident] was one of those, no matter how smart you think you are, you were like, whoa! That’s really happening. They’re going to get into trouble over that.
So that was pretty exciting. I was at that WCW show, in the audience.
WWE.COM: What is your favorite Attitude Era moment you were involved in?
LITA: I could make a laundry list. I think the first thing for me that was definitely Attitude Era–based and my first really main storyline with WWE was with Eddie Guerrero & Chyna vs. myself & Essa Ríos. [I was] the first woman Chyna interacted with, and to be in there with them was great. They had their funny story going on, and you never knew what my story was with Essa Ríos, so that was one.
I think also, when I had a run in with Triple H & Steve Austin when they were together as The Two-Man Power Trip. Looking back on that, I was just excited to be out there with Triple H and “Stone Cold.”
WWE.COM: What are the differences between Attitude Era Women and today’s Divas?
LITA: I think the women of The Attitude Era really did a good job at figuring out who they were and what they wanted to portray to the fans. So each woman was such an individual — you were never going to get Lita and Ivory confused. You’re not going to get the two confused, as opposed to now, is it the hot athletic girl with the short shorts on? No, it’s the other hot athletic girl with the short shorts on. It was about setting yourself apart.
WWE.COM: Which Diva today would best fit in The Attitude Era? Is there a Diva today you’d most like to compete against?
LITA: I think it’s interesting to see the Divas of today and to see who the fans are attaching to. Obviously, right now, it’s AJ Lee, who’s not the strongest; she’s not one of those classically hot chicks. But she sets herself apart, and you have emotion when she’s out there and you get a sense of who she is, and so I think that’s really cool to see the kid that wasn’t supposed to make it being the one that’s out there, and that’s who the fans want to know more about.
WWE.COM: If you had to pick the definitive Superstar or Woman of The Attitude Era, who would you go with?
LITA: Wow. I feel like that’s really hard to answer. There’s definitely a figurehead I could go with who embodied the whole Attitude Era, but I feel like the one thing that was just — from the time the show started to the time the show ended — stuff was going crazy whether it was Val Venis and you thought his towel was going to fall off that night, or if it was Crash Holly running through the hotel trying to regain his 24/7 Hardcore Title, or whether it was more like the big stars like DX, Rock, Mick Foley and Austin.
I think classically, Austin would embody The Attitude Era in a nutshell, but he had a pretty damn good supporting cast.
WWE.COM: “WWE ’13” has the entire WWE Universe talking. What are your thoughts on the game?
LITA: It’s fun for me to see the fans tweet about the matches they’re creating in “WWE ’13.” It’s as close as you could possibly get to having this match ever happen. Fans have been tweeting me these matches that never happened that should have. Fans are creating the matches right before their very eyes, as close to real as you can ever get.
“If you haven’t yet picked up “WWE ’13,” then what are you waiting for?! Get your copy today and relive The Attitude Era!”
